Time for my yearly update! Although I only attended Otakuthon, I was very active this year cosplay-wise, with most of my free time going into finishing Wrathion (World of Warcraft) and starting on Anduin Wrynn (World of Warcraft), which I'm making for a friend because I want this duo so badly. This made me learn a lot about armor making and sealing. That's about all I can say; I think about my year and I see myself sitting inside or on the balcony, sanding until my arm hurt.

Next year, I plan on attending more cons locally (nothing outside of Canada unfortunately): Otakuthon as usual and Comic Cons in Montréal and Ottawa. I'd like to try hosting panels, on crossplay makeup and on how to make smooth surfaces on props. I want to finish Anduin and do all the photo shoots I've been dying to make happen since starting on the costumes. I'm still waiting for shoot results on all sides so these should turn up eventually. And maybe I'll go back to working on Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) if I have the time.

I wish everyone a happy new year and lots of inspiration and luck with their projects! As always, thank you for sticking around!

(Since DeviantArt has fallen quiet for the most part, I update my Tumblr and my Facebook pages a lot more so feel free to follow me there!)

2015 was a surprisingly productive year for me! I managed to finish Sebastian Debeste (Ace Attorney Investigations 2) and I attended Katsucon for a second year, which was tons of fun. I did a few shoots here and there but I'm mostly still waiting for the results of 3 big shoots I did last summer (Snake from 999, Fujimoto from Kobato. and Sebastian Debeste). I started a Tumblr and a World Cosplay page. As planned, I continued working on Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) and the costume was coming along nicely, but then something unexpected happened: Wrathion (World of Warcraft) cut in line and imposed himself at the front of my lineup (which I can actually picture him doing with a shit-eating grin). This new project came as incredibly refreshing and reminded me of what real passion for cosplay was once again. I realized that somehow it'd been too long since a cosplay had brought me this much thrill and motivation and now it feels like I found my way once more.

For 2016, I will mostly be focusing on Wrathion. I started working on the costume before his new model was announced for this summer so I'm working hard to hopefully finish the costume before it becomes officially outdated, but if I don't make it in time that's fine too. I won't be attending Katsucon 2016 for a number of reasons, though I'd like to return in 2017 maybe. Otakuthon is my only certain convention of the year. My plans will mostly revolve around my World of Warcraft group and the few special photoshoots I would very much like to make happen. (I have a few ideas such as recreating scenes from Mists of Pandaria and War Crimes with a friend as Anduin Wrynn; we'll see how things go!) And I would like to work on putting more time into building and setting up my photoshoot sets.

So these are my hopes and goals for 2016! I wish everyone success and luck with theirs, and lots of love and peace! Thank you so much for sticking around and for all your support! small heart - purple

Time for my yearly update! 2014 might've seemed quiet since I didn't get to finish any cosplay, but I was working hard all year long on a big prop commission. I won't attempt any more contracts for the time being as I'm itching to complete a few projects for my own. I still managed to make a large part of my costumes for Yuri Lowell (Tales of Vesperia) and Sebastian Debeste (Ace Attorney Investigations: Prosecutor's Path). I also made the experience of traveling to the United States to Katsucon and I loved it so much that I'll be doing it again next year and hopefully more times after!

For next year, my aim is to complete my two ongoing projects and, I hope, start on Link (LoZ: Twilight Princess). I'm planning a few shoots as well, and I'll be attending Katsucon and Otakuthon. On the "real life" side, 2015 will be a very decisive year for my career so I may have to put my costumes aside at times... but my passion for cosplay won't be so easily stifled. ;)

I wish everyone a happy and fulfilling new year! :D

First, a heads up! I made a cosplay Facebook page a while back, where I put more pictures and plan to keep more up to date:

This year, I completed two cosplays (Syaoran, Lecourt variant, from TRC and Snake from 999) and had two big photo shoots. I am very eager to see them and be able to share where I am at in the cosplay craft as of now, as opposed to what my gallery has to show. This is where my Facebook page may come in handy : I’m considering posting occasional news and informal pictures to compensate for the gap, we’ll see...

Next year, I’ll be concentrating my efforts on completing a sole cosplay : Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia, on which I’m putting everything I have. I’ll also be tackling a big year-long prop commission, very happy about this. Shoot-wise, a special project for Lecourt I’ve been planning for over a year should finally come to be, as well as two or three more shoots this summer. I’m looking forward to my collaborations with new people, on both the cosplay groups and photography fronts, maybe returning to the masquerade stage, and traveling farther for a con: I’ll be attending Katsucon 2014, my first time at a foreign convention! I can’t wait to see new faces, meet long-time friends and experience a new atmosphere. I’ll also be at Otakuthon, as always.

So these are my plans for 2014! Now we’ll see what real life allows me to accomplish. After that, I know I must return to cosplaying some Ace Attorney, it’s been way too long... And maybe start on my dream project for Link.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank every one of you who’s been showing me support! I can’t believe the number of people my crossplay makeup tutorial has come to reach and I’m so happy it proved pertinent and helpful to so many! Thank you!

Happy new year!!

Hi there! :aww: Probably for the first time... I simply can't blog to save my life so really, I'm sparing you the bore. This time is because I was tagged.

I have a small announcement to make first! I never thought I'd do this but I entered a cosplay contest... and the thought of getting anywhere with it hadn't even crossed my mind, that's not why I entered (I just... I had my reasons... complicated as they were) but now I find out I'm in the lead! I imagine it's very temporary at this early stage, but it's still enough to spark a tiny little bit of hope so um... I'm not asking for anything, but if you ever get a second and feel like lending me a hand, you can vote for me and my latest Syaoran cosplay here with a simple 'like'. Sharing the link would also greatly help. Sharing would be very very good. Thank you!! :lonely:

And now, for something completely different…! I'm really not good at these but… here we go:

Tagged by: tsukasawolf

RULES:
1. You must post these rules.
2. Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
3. You must choose 11 people to tag. Put their icon on your journal!
4. Go to their page and tell him/her that you tagged them :3
5. No tag backs!

- I must have my cereals in the morning. If I can't, then I substitute another meal for breakfast again because I must. Have. My. Cereals.
- I taught myself how to play piano, guitar and violin, but I will never get anywhere with it because I can't stand anyone telling me how and what to play.
- The more I crossplay within a given time, the more I dress in a girly way in my everyday life. It's like a backlash.
- The Lord of the Rings was my first love; I've worn a silver version of the One Ring on my thumb for the past 11 years.
- I've just drastically changed my career vocation for the third time. Fingers crossed!
- I'm something of a stubborn perfectionist. This explains my low cosplay per year ratio.
- I'm a bit of a loner (and a hermit). I need my pyjama asocial days from time to time.
- I love building props, but I despise sewing with a passion. It's not precise enough for my liking.
- I can't see myself cosplaying any character. Only when people suggest it do I think I can do it.
- I'm very picky about clothing. Sometimes I like the trend and I stock on clothes because I know it can be years before I like anything again.
- I made the best of friends in high school and I know we will stick together for the rest of our lives. It has been prophesized that my best friend and I will one day be on our rocking chairs together, and I believe it.

I'm not going to tag anyone... because I'm tagging everyone! Aha!
And now, I really should be studying...
