So, this is the first set of pictures in a series showing my more major prop projects, starting with the first prop I made. This was two years ago, I had no idea how to work with wood or tools, so I did everything by hand and it took... longer than I even want to remember. But I knew I would be able to use it for more than one costume in the end.

I originally made this to go with my Tokyo Syaoran costume. It's a mix of elements from both the manga and the anime. :aww:

By the way,, do you have any picture with the Hien with the scrabbard,,, I mean,,, there's a gap between the scabbard and the main blade itself??

A gap... you mean the free space inside? You can see it a bit on here. I drew the scabbard 5mm around the blade and dug in the throat to fit the habaki. Before assembling, I covered the inside with craft foam to cushion the blade (which is why it looks green inside =P). Did I answer your question?

It's 110cm long (82cm for the blade up to the guard, and 28cm for the hilt) :aww:
